Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking an onsite, full-time Construction Administrator (CM-CA) to support construction projects at the Lyons Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lyons, New Jersey.

This support is required to assist with construction administration and oversight activities at an active VA medical facility, including infrastructure upgrades and facility improvements that may occur in occupied clinical environments.

Requirements

  • Ability to quickly understand and apply the requirements of local, state, and federal jurisdictions as they relate to assigned construction projects.
  • Strong communication, language, and software skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software tools to monitor, update, and produce work products.
  • Working knowledge of construction practices and the ability to support the implementation of project plans including: 
    • Quality Assurance (QA)
    • Safety
    • Schedule
    • Cost
    • Change and Information Management
  • Familiarity with general contractor and subcontractor site operations and building construction workflows.
  • Experience monitoring construction activities for Quality Assurance (QA).
  • Experience preparing, analyzing, and identifying deficiencies or inconsistencies in contractor work relative to construction documents.
  • Ability to support documentation and administrative requirements for construction activities in an active healthcare environment.
  • Required training to be completed within contract timeframes, including: 
    • OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training
    • VA Cyber Security Awareness Training
    • VA Privacy Awareness Training
    • VA IT training as required for VA systems (e.g., TRIRIGA)

Relevant Experience

  • Provides construction administration and oversight support for projects at an active medical facility.
  • Supports administration oversight and evaluation involving multiple construction disciplines.
  • Assists with project management activities including planning, scheduling, constructability reviews, code compliance, testing, record keeping, quality control, cost control, and general oversight.
  • Conducts site inspections, prepares daily logs, and documents work progress, quality issues, and compliance.
  • Assists with submittal reviews, RFIs, progress meetings, contractor pay application reviews, and issue resolution.
  • Determines documentation and coordination needs based on engineering and construction risk assessments that could impact patient care or facility operations.

Education

  • The CM-CA may possess a degree from an accredited institution and/or demonstrated construction-related work experience or technical knowledge.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of construction-related experience may be substituted and will be reviewed for acceptability.
