About the Role:
Helping Hands Home Healthcare Agency in Oak Hill, OH is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our caring team. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and personal assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Support clients in community integration and social skill development
- Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately
- Administer medications and monitor health conditions as directed
- Transport clients to appointments, activities, and community outings
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and care team members
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or a related healthcare field preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays
