Job Title: Data Center Technician
Location: Pataskala, OH
Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: First and Second shift (1st)7am – 5pm and (2nd)12pm – 10pm - Occasional weekends

Pay Rate: Entry Level

 

Job Summary: (Must have flexibility to work both 1st and 2nd shifts)

The Fiber Technician is responsible for installing, fusion splicing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fiber optic cable systems within data center environments. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Whether you have previous fiber technician experience or are looking to begin a career in the field, we provide a comprehensive three-week paid training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in this role.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Experience using fusion splicers (e.g., Fujikura, Sumitomo) and specialized hand tools will be valuable. Experience working in data centers is a plus. Additional project specific training will be provided.
  • Candidate will ultimately be required to calculate fiber attenuation values and interpret complex OTDR traces to identify and troubleshoot faults.
  • Physical Dexterity: Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling fragile glass fibers.
  • Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to OSHA standards, fiber handling safety (shards/lasers), and traffic control protocols.
  • Must have reliable transportation and commute to the office daily
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, stand or kneel for extended periods.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in telecommunications is a plus.


Work Environment:

Work will be primarily in an indoor climate-controlled environment. This is a position that requires standing during work hours.
