Overview: Under general supervision, loads and operates ovens, impregnation systems, vacuum tanks, and cleaning liners used to process oil filled capacitors in accordance with engineering and manufacturing specifications. Processes parts within expected time frames. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reads and understands a work order packet and other related work documentation to determine what processes need to be used.
  • Gather the material identified in the work order packet.
  • Load capacitors into ovens or liners at the start of the impregnation cycle to dry parts.
  • Transfers units into vacuum tanks/liners at specified times for impregnation.
  • Transfers units from vacuum tanks/liners and prepares them for leak test.
  • Perform acceptance tests on dielectric fluids.
  • Promptly complete job folders and other supporting documentation.
  • Communicate with manufacturing supervision regarding any non-conformances in shop packets, materials, instructions, or other irregularities.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy working environment by proper use and maintenance of company provided assets.
  • Other assignments as requested or as business needs require.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School education or GED is required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must be a detail-oriented self-starter able to multi-tasker, as necessary.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and understand manufacturing documents.
  • Proficiency in high school level math skills.
  • Ability to utilize measuring tools and other hand-held tools.
  • Routine problem solving (evaluate and establish facts and seek solutions).

Physical Requirements:

  • Full body movement/good eyesight. 
  • Good hand eye coordination. 
  • Move, transport and lift capacitors. 
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator mask at times.

Working Environment:

  • The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and regularly exposed to hazardous dust.
  • Moderately noisy.
  • Exposure to heat, dust, and oils.
