JOB TITLE: Welder

POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY

The Welder/Fabrication Technician is responsible for performing high-quality welding and fabrication work using a variety of techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. This role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, prepare materials, and maintain welding equipment to ensure optimal performance. The position operates in a manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and the consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; formal welding certification preferred. Demonstrated welding experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in multiple welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of welding materials, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute welding operations on mold components and fabricated parts using MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.
  • Weld various materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical specifications to determine appropriate welding methods and requirements.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate welding equipment to ensure precision and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tooling and welding equipment; report malfunctions as needed.
  • Inspect completed welds to verify conformance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including labor hours and material usage.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address design or fabrication challenges.
  • Support the training and development of new team members on welding techniques and safety practices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Routinely required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach,
  • Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.
  • Lifting to 50 lbs. independently and utilizing moving equipment for heavier

  • Noise level for this work environment is moderate.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work performed primarily on the production floor, frequently operating machinery.
  • May involve elevated temperatures and moderate to high noise levels.
  • Requires both independent and collaborative work in production teams.
