The Production Foreman is a front-line production leader responsible for directing, developing, and holding accountable a production crew in a precast concrete manufacturing environment.聽

The Production Foreman is responsible for ensuring that assigned production activities are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule and according to company quality standards.

This position provides daily leadership to production employees, assigns and coordinates work, communicates production priorities, monitors safety and quality, addresses employee performance, solves production problems, and works closely with the Plant Manager, Quality Control, Maintenance, Scheduling, and other departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

People Leadership

  • Lead and direct the daily activities of assigned production employees.
  • Communicate production priorities, safety expectations, quality requirements, and staffing assignments.
  • Assign employees to tasks based on skills, production equipment, and development opportunities.
  • Monitor employee performance throughout the shift.
  • Provide regular coaching, training, and feedback.
  • Address performance and behavioral issues promptly and professionally.
  • Recognize employees for strong performance and positive contributions.
  • Build teamwork, trust, and respect within the crew.
  • Help employees prepare for increased responsibility by opportunities to learn additional skills and be fully cross trained.
  • Serve as a positive example of the Company鈥檚 leadership expectations and core values.

Safety Leadership

  • Lead by example and consistently follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct or participate in safety discussions and topics.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and take immediate corrective action.
  • Ensure employees use required PPE and follow safe work practices.
  • Report injuries, near misses, hazards, and safety concerns promptly.
  • Work with Plant Manager to continuously improve safety performance.

Production Leadership

  • Review the daily production schedule and understand the priorities for the crew.
  • Organize labor, materials, equipment, and work areas to meet production requirements.
  • Monitor production progress throughout the shift.
  • Identify bottlenecks, delays, and resource constraints.
  • Communicate production issues to the Plant Manager before the issues affect the schedule.
  • Adjust labor assignments as priorities change.
  • Minimize and monitor downtime, unnecessary movement, material waste, and rework.
  • Provide accurate production updates to management.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Previous Foreman, Supervisor, or Lead experience
  • Previous precast, construction, manufacturing or related production experience.
  • Previous experience with production scheduling
  • Experience training and developing employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and management.

Preferred:

  • NPCA PQS I or higher聽
  • Crane Certification
  • Experience with production scheduling
