Citizens National Bank has an excellent opportunity available at our Lima, Ohio office for a Retail Loan Processor. In this role you will prepare and processes mortgage & consumer loans accurately and within time constraints. Promote goodwill for the Bank through customer service.


A typical day may include the following: 

  • Processes consumer & mortgage loan applications and tracks information.
  • Provides early disclosures.
  • Orders verifications, prepares file for credit decisions.
  • Prepares loan documents, closes new loan accounts, interfacing the new account on the core system and runs TMS to advance and activate the loan.
  • Verifies and funds loans with title agencies.
  • Review of all documentation: Validate signatures are present & notarized as applicable, ensures all required documents are present and loaded to Director in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all missing documents for loan files are tracked and obtained in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Exception report includes all loan exceptions prior to loan closing. 
  • Manages & maintain all servicing functions on loans from inception through final payment.
  • Assists other employees as necessary.
  • Prepares mortgage loan releases, loan modification agreements, etc.
  • Processes escrow draws for repairs/insurance claims on funds held.
  • Provides customer service via telephone (missing coupon books, payment questions, etc.)
  • Prepare routine correspondences and reports.
  • This position requires on-site presence for regular, successful performance: teamwork, face-to-face interaction with peers/management and the ability to utilize the in-house software and hardware are required. Adherence to the Bank attendance policy is required as an essential function of this position. 
  • Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: must get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; be able to perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree; and previous experience with secretarial skills, customer service, Word and Excel. Ideal candidate will possess at least two years prior loan experience. 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge and proficiency with MS Office Products required.
  • Keyboarding proficiency is necessary.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and be attentive to detail.
