Where You’ll Work

St. Elizabeth Home Medical Supply and Equipment provides durable medical supplies and equipment to the Lincoln metro area. The department is an offsite division of CHI Health St. Elizabeth Hospital, founded by the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration in 1889, is a full-service, 260-bed, nonprofit regional medical center in Lincoln, Nebraska. 

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Customer Service staff, you will help our patients and providers streamline the process to obtain medical supplies and equipment for home use. Every day you will assist patients in obtaining a variety of supplies/equipment while verifying insurance and inputting necessary information to bill patient's insurance or process self payment. 

To be successful in this role, you must have strong attention to detail, good people/phone skills, and a willingness to learn. 

  • Communicate and discuss medical supplies/equipment needs with patients.
  • Research insurance eligibility and coverage/benefits 
  • Computer skills to create and update patient accounts.
  • Keep adequate records while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Professionally communicate with other members of the CHI team as well as with internal and external providers.

Job Requirements

Preferred

  • High School GED General Studies
  • A minimum of two years of customer service experience
  • Basic healthcare insurance knowledge is a plus.
