SUMMARY

The Senior Analyst provides analytic, reporting, and visualization support across Early Childhood, Older Youth, and Community Collaborative work statewide in Nebraska. This role leads priority data analysis projects including survey analysis, qualitative and quantitative data interpretation, reporting, and evaluation coordination, and serves as a key resource for transforming complex program data into clear, actionable insights.

The position focuses on high quality data cleaning, pre-post survey matching, descriptive and inferential analysis, qualitative theme identification, dashboard and summary development, and translation of findings into clear, actionable reports that inform program improvement and statewide learning. This role is ideal for an experienced data analyst who can independently manage analytic workflows while collaborating across teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and meaningful interpretation of results. The Senior Analyst works closely with the various member of the Research and Evaluation Team to collectively ensure alignment with program logic models and evaluation plans, develop appropriate methodologies, meet timelines and develop actionable insights and learning. Proficiency in SQL would be helpful for this position but is not required. This role focuses on determining how data should be organized, structured, and visualized to best communicate findings including identifying the right metrics, groupings, and data relationships that enable utilized the development and utilization of dashboards. 


This position is time-limited; however, there is potential for transition to a permanent full-time role contingent on performance and funding availability.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• High-quality data cleaning, pre-post survey matching, descriptive and inferential analysis, and qualitative theme identification across multiple program areas.

• Systematic extraction, review, and interpretation of metadata from organizational systems, platforms, and program databases to surface patterns in engagement, reach, service utilization, and program fidelity. This includes working across data sources to ensure metadata is consistently structured, well-documented, and meaningfully integrated into reporting workflows

• Support the design and development of interactive dashboards and visual summaries that make program data accessible to diverse audiences, from frontline staff to statewide partners and funders. Dashboards will track key metrics across program areas, support real-time decision-making, and evolve in response to organizational learning priorities.

• Disaggregate data by district, population group, or other relevant categories to support program improvement and reporting needs.

• Development of summary reports, data briefs, and presentation-ready materials that translate findings into program improvement recommendations and support statewide learning.

• Validate data collection tools, including surveys and intake forms, to ensure they are capturing accurate, consistent data. 

• Supporting evaluation planning, data collection processes, and cross-team alignment to ensure accuracy, consistency, and rigor across analytic workflows.

• Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate interpretation of findings.

• Limited support of data collection tools development, including platforms such as Qualtrics.

• Monitor data quality and completeness to ensure reliable and usable datasets.

• Assist with focus groups, interviews, and other data collection activities as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

- Strong background in data analysis, program evaluation, and reporting.

- Advanced statistical analysis including descriptive and inferential methods

- Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data and translate findings into clear, actionable insights for internal and external audiences.

- Advanced Excel or statistical software proficiency (SPSS, R, Stata, SAS, etc.)

- Ability to select appropriate statistical techniques based on evaluation design

- Skilled in creating dashboards, visualizations, and reports that support data interpretation and decision-making across community and statewide partners.

- Ability to work independently and manage workloads 

- Experience working with population-level indicators and aligning local evaluation efforts with broader statewide outcomes.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and presentations.

- Ability to problem-solve and adapt in a dynamic work environment.

- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, particularly in coordinating across internal teams and external partners.

- Willingness to learn and apply new data management and evaluation tools or platforms.


PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

- Familiarity with federal, state, and local systems related to child, youth, and family well-being, human development, and education.

- Familiarity with JavaScript and Vue JS

- Proficiency in SQL for querying, extracting, and managing structured datasets.

- Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries to support evaluation and reporting needs.

- Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey data collection platforms.

- Experience with evaluating behavioral change or conducting longitudinal or trend analyses.

- Bilingual in a language commonly spoken in Nebraska, particularly Spanish.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Master’s degree in a field relevant to the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation’s work (such as applied research and evaluation, policy evaluation, child welfare, education, or public health) and at least 5 years of professional experience in program evaluation, data analysis, and reporting.

- In lieu of Master’s, Bachelor’s degree or related certification in a relevant field and 7+ years of professional experience in program evaluation, data analysis, or reporting.

· Nebraska Children has offices in both Omaha and Lincoln. Hybrid work options available in Lincoln and Omaha
