Job Summary: Coordinate activities of hourly production associates engaged in the manufacture of products in accordance with safety, quality, build schedule, and labor standards. Collaborate closely with the Production Supervisor, Maintenance, and Engineering to develop and improve production-related processes and equipment/tooling.  

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Maintains compliance with safety programs and guidelines to ensure clean, orderly, and safe working conditions.
  • Ensure production employees understand and comply with Standard Work Instructions, Process Specifications, Inspection Records, Training Documents, and other work instructions.
  • Verify that production personnel are assigned to areas where documented training has been completed.
  • Maintain time and production output goals
  • Maintain time and production records and other reporting elements.
  • Support team members in professional development
  • Perform other functions as assigned.
  • Respond to support calls by team members
  • Process start up and control
  • Fill in for absent team members

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Good analytical skills, problems solving skills, communication skills, project management skills and leadership skills.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste handling.
  • Knowledge of general OSHA regulations.

Credentials and Experience 

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Meets minimum year requirement as a team member
  • Knowledgeable in the skills of the assigned production team for which team leader will oversee

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time (up to 12 hours per day) and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is moderately required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds on a regular basis and up to 120 lbs with assistance on an occasional basis (team lift available). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • This position may work additional days outside established work schedule to achieve production goals as necessary. Additionally, work in the plant and outdoors in the field, therefore subject to all weather conditions sometimes to include extreme cold and heat. The work described while working in the plant or field will require wearing all PPE depending on circumstance which may include: safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, leather gloves, safety vest and steel toed boots
