Position Description:Ā 

Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking an eager, results-driven Audit Intern to perform audit work under direct supervision, including evaluating controls and conducting data analysis. This is a hybrid role (Lincoln, NE) working partially in-office and partially from home.Ā

Position Start Date:Ā 

This internship will begin in May 2027. Ā 

What you do:Ā 

  • Assist audit staff in conducting reviews of assigned organizational and functional activities by evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls.Ā 
  • Prepare work papers documenting results of the tests and data analytics performed, and with assistance, write formal audit comments which identify and quantify the impact on business operations.Ā 
  • With assistance, report opportunities for improved efficiencies and controls to management and make appropriate recommendations.Ā 
  • Assists in the coordination and implementation of audit work for the external auditors.Ā 
  • Completes other projects as assigned.Ā 
  • Continues to develop professionally through self-study and on-the-job training, with emphasis on:Ā 
  • Developing knowledge of and ability to apply appropriate auditing techniques and accounting principlesĀ 
  • Improving effective business communication skills, both written and oralĀ 
  • Demonstrating the characteristics of a professional, both in attitude and conduct.Ā 

What you bring:Ā 

  • Must be actively enrolled at a college or university at least half-time as defined by your institution working towards a degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems Audit and Control, or related business studiesĀ 
  • Able to commit to a 12-month internship working full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year.Ā Ā 
  • Full-time hours: 30-40 hours per weekĀ 
  • Part-time hours: 15-20 hours per weekĀ 
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Ā 
  • Must be able to communicate well across all levels of the organization and work well with diverse groups of peopleĀ 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detailĀ 
  • Exhibit strong time management skills
  • Interest in emerging technologies, including AI, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve workflows, enhance efficiency, and support process improvements through AI-enabled solutions.
