The Environmental & Sustainability Engineer develops and drives internal projects focused on Environmental Product Sustainability, carbon emission reduction and circular economy practices into our products and communications for Zebra’s engineering organization.
This role requires a dynamic and proactive individual to work closely with business partners to advance Zebra’s corporate sustainability and social responsibility efforts.

The Environmental & Sustainability Engineer will collaborate with the Sustainability Council (Green Products Council) and other business partners on a wide range of initiatives that further instill Zebra’s values in how we work and the legacy we leave for our employees, our communities, and our environment.

Additionally, the Environmental & Sustainability Engineer will manage day to day efforts from initial concept to deployment as well provide awareness to the greater organization of new policies and best practices with regard to Environmental Sustainability.

Responsibilities:
- Develops and drives the execution of sustainable solutions and circular economy into the Zebra product portfolio.
- Advises product teams on sustainable material selections, energy efficiency improvements, battery longevity, repairability, and other specific sustainability topic
- Lead the management and implementation of Zebra’s Ecolabel program, including EPEAT 2.0 and Energy Star certifications
- Develop a method to baseline the life cycle assessments and provide improvements across our product portfolio.
- Drive multi-functional teams comprised of Suppliers, JDM’s (Joint Design Manufacturers), CM’s (Contract Manufacturers), and Engineering to ensure that components/products manufactured for Zebra are in compliance with the ESG standards.
- Execute multiple limited scope projects simultaneously, or a large program, with senior management’s guidance utilizing modern project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.
- Work with internal Marketing/Communications teams to create both internal and external facing communications for sales enablement.
- Work directly with sales and customers addressing any inquiries on Zebra’s Sustainability practices.
- Independently build relationships and work across all relevant areas of the solution business including Sales, Services, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Support.
- Very limited supervision by management is expected in this position for complex or novel problems.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical degree with 8+ year's Engineering/Program Management experience in Sustainability or Carbon Emissions reductionÂ
- MS in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical degree with 5+ years' Engineering/Program Management experience in Sustainability or Carbon Emissions reductionÂ
- Management experience in Sustainability or Carbon Emissions reduction required

Salary: CAD $101,040 - CAD $151,040Â yearly

Salary: USD 109000.00 - USD 163400.00 Yearly
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
