Overview

Position Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for nutrition assessments, care planning process, care conference process, resident visitation and interviews, meal observations, as well as conducting quality assurance audits. The Registered Dietitian also participates in the interdisciplinary team at resident care conferences as needed.

 

Essential Functions, Key Duties, & Responsibilities

  • Fill out and complete all required paperwork according to professional and federal guidelines in accordance with community policies within the specified time frame including but not limited to; MDS 3.0, nutrition assessments, medication sheet, skin sheet HCFA, Braden Scale, CAA’s, Clinical Quality Assurance, care plans, monthly accumulative weight sheets, interdepartmental referrals, dietary change slips.
  • Inform supervisor about incidental and significant changes with nutrition interventions and status of the residents.
  • Meet with all new residents, visiting and observing each resident a minimum of once every 90 days.
  • Perform weekly conduct meal observations on various units.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism with the Dining Services associates, Physicians, and other direct and indirect care associates.
  • Provide diet information to the residents, family members, and other associates as needed.
  • Assist supervisor in planning and executing nutrition update.
  • Lead in-service/training and National Nutrition Month activities within the community.
  • Assist in designing and implementing new or revised nutrition assessments or interventions to ensure quality nutritional support for residents.
  • Represent the Dining Services department at the scheduled Resident Care Conferences as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.

Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics required

Licenses/Certifications: Active dietitian license preferred

Experience: 1+ years in clinical nutrition or senior living dining

  • Warm demeanor and bedside manner
