Position Overview
A successful candidate will have a strong financial modeling background and experience with financial reporting and analysis. This role functions as a program-level finance lead, which demands exceptional communication skills and a great deal of cross-functional interaction. This role is not only responsible for accurate tracking and scoring of program financials but is also tasked with managing/controlling program spend and guiding program strategy through prudent, finance-based decision-making.
Responsibilities
In this role the Financial Consultant will be responsible for:
- Support the annual financial planning and forecasting cycle for the IT organization, including the Strategic Plan, Operating Plan, and monthly forecast updates.
- Prepare, consolidate, analyze, and communicate IT financial results, forecasts, and key performance indicators for monthly financial reviews and annual budget planning processes.
- Coordinate and oversee the work assignments, development, and performance of Finance & Accounting Leadership Development (FALD) program rotational analyst and summer interns supporting the IT Finance team.
- Manage the preparation, calculation, and communication of annual IT cost allocations to business units, ensuring accuracy and alignment with approved allocation methodologies.
- Lead financial and operational improvement initiatives to streamline processes, enhance reporting capabilities, strengthen internal controls, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT financial management.
- Partner with IT leaders, project managers, accounting teams, and business stakeholders to provide financial analysis, support decision-making, and ensure effective management of operating and capital expenditures.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of finance experience
OR
- Master's degree and at least 1 year of finance experience
OR
- At least 5 years of finance experience

Desired Skills
- Strong financial planning and analysis (FP&A) expertise, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, headcount planning, and capital versus operating expense management with a high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends and risks, and provide actionable recommendations that support business and technology objectives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial results and insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, as well as translate complex financial concepts, models, and data into clear, concise, and decision-oriented reports, presentations, and executive summaries.
- Strong business partnership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Accounting, IT, and operational teams.
- Self-motivated and proactive individual who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive results with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to financial and operational challenges.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills, with a proven ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as comfortable working with financial reporting systems, business intelligence tools, and large data sets is preferred.
