Description
OVERVIEW
The construction Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of a construction project, ensuring it’s completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards by managing resources, coordinating with contractors, monitoring progress, solving on-site problems, and documenting project details through the construction process. The project engineer typically provides general administrative support to projects, under the direction of a more experienced project management professional.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work collaboratively with the project manager and team to maximize productivity and in a timely manner
- Create and manage contracts and SOWs (discuss process and streamline)
- Support submittal process
- In charge of close out manuals and warranty books
- Make sure all contracts, SOWs, COIs, etc. are being turned around in a timely fashion
- Coordinate efforts within the team and with outside consultants (architects, engineers, owner’s reps) efficiently
- Participate in weekly updates with directors of operations on PM status log
- Track and update job cost files with contract and PO status
- Follows up with project managers on missing requirements from them and the subcontractors
SUBMITTAL PROCESS
- Meet with the operations director and PM to go over project details and scopes
- Submittal log to be worked up by the PM and once completed turned over to PE
- Submittal log entered into Procore by PE
- PE to double check drawings to see if any items/material are missing, create and maintain procurement log for project materials
- Follow up with subcontractors to acquire physical samples, shop drawings, spec sheets, etc. to send to architect or upload to Procore
- Report progress of updated submittal log to directors of operations weekly
CONTRACT/SCOPES
- Meet with the PM as subs are bought out to input contract information into Procore
- Meet with the PM as subs are bought to confirm scope items and input into Procore
- Contract, along with scopes to be sent together to subtractors and tracked as executed
- COIs should be requested as contracts/scopes are issued to subcontractors. Owner and 41 North Contractor insurance requirements to be met by subcontractors unless otherwise waived by 41 North Contractors partner
CLOSE OUT/WARRANTY MANUAL
- Prior to completion of the project a request should be sent out to subcontractors noting what they will need to provide for close out/warranty of the project
- The owner contract and project drawings need to be thoroughly examined on the owner/architect closeout documentation requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Working knowledge of Procore operations related software
- Excellent computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Project, and other MS Office software
- Construction or building background would be helpful
- Excellent communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent
- 0-2 years’ experience in commercial construction and restaurant projects
- Excellent communication skills

Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay: Starting at $60,000.00/yr (See Wage Disclaimer on determination of base pay)

Medical Insurance: 70/30 employer split starting the 1st of the month after first 60 days
