JOB SUMMARY: The Application Engineer, Installation is a primary connector between the Cohesion engineering, sales, and marketing teams and external consultants, integration partners and distributors. Broad responsibility set includes activities related to establishing and maintaining integration-focused design standards, completing system designs, system demonstrations, system commissioning, and helping to define product and validation requirements – working in close collaboration with others on the Cohesion application engineering team and the tour support and training teams in the rental division.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion.
- Direct experience as an AV consultant or with an AV system integrator
- Direct experience in a manufacturer support role is preferred
- Advanced degree or equivalent in acoustics, audio engineering or related field is preferred
- Highly proficient in acoustic measurement and system optimization
- Highly proficient in system design for performance-focused sound reinforcement systems
- Proficient with signal processing, electroacoustics, and power electronics
- Skilled at conducting product presentations and demonstrations
- Ability to document standards, proposals, and recommendations
- Experience with immersive audio design and object-based mixing is desirable
- Willingness to travel (approximately 30% of the time)
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
EXPERIENCE:
- The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as an AV consultant or with an AV system integrator
- The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a manufacturer support role
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Design Cohesion systems (in Canvas and EASE) for performance-focused integration projects
- Complete system commissioning for Cohesion systems
- Lead Cohesion product and system presentations and demonstrations
- Develop and maintain framework and standards for integration design proposals
- Define integration-specific requirements for new hardware and software product development
- Develop integration-specific presentation materials
