Position Overview

Mor Smiles is seeking a motivated, professional, and patient-focused Dental Assistant to join our growing team. The Dental Assistant plays an essential role in supporting clinical operations, assisting providers during treatment, ensuring compliance with infection control standards, and delivering an exceptional patient experience.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, team-oriented, and committed to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced dental environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Support

  • Assist dentists chairside during a variety of restorative, preventive, surgical, and specialty procedures.
  • Anticipate provider needs during treatment to ensure efficient clinical workflow.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment for patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation as directed by the provider.
  • Take high-quality digital radiographs in accordance with state regulations and office protocols.
  • Capture intraoral photographs, impressions, scans, and other diagnostic records as required.
Patient Care

  • Greet and escort patients to treatment rooms in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Review medical histories and communicate relevant information to the provider.
  • Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after treatment.
  • Provide post-operative and home care instructions as directed by the provider.
  • Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Infection Control and Compliance

  • Adhere to all OSHA, HIPAA, CDC, and office infection control standards.
  • Properly sterilize instruments and maintain sterilization records.
  • Ensure operatories are cleaned, stocked, and prepared for patient care.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and organized clinical environment.
Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, administrative team members, and fellow assistants.
  • Support schedule efficiency and patient flow throughout the day.
  • Participate in team meetings, training programs, and continuing education opportunities.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional workplace culture focused on patient care and operational excellence.
Qualifications

Required

  • Current Pennsylvania Dental Radiology Certification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of dental assisting experience.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with dental software and electronic patient records.
Preferred

  • Experience with Dentrix practice management software.
  • Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification.
  • Experience in specialty, surgical, or implant dentistry.
