  • Night Shift Premium $1.50/hour

  • Schedule: 2-2-3 NIGHTS, 6pm - 6am

  • Two pay increases within a year, up to $1.00

What you’ll be responsible for each day:

The Maintenance General position is responsible for keeping the plant running and in compliance with all rules/regulations by using safe methods of equipment repair and upkeep.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot equipment for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Install, update and repair equipment.
  • Work closely with production to minimize downtime while maintaining high quality.
  • Repair or replace valves and pumps (seals, steams, O rings, seats, bearings, etc.) as needed.
  • Perform basic electrical wiring (switches, outlets, starter, motor leads, etc.) as needed.
  • Perform basic pipe fitting as directed.
  • Handle all equipment and chemicals safely.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a good working knowledge of all process areas in the plant.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Safety Protocol
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.

The individual who will own this role:

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum one (1) year of related maintenance experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.

Skills Required:

  • Communicate well both verbally and in writing with managers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Ability to apply logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, establish priorities, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and complete required documentation.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.
  • Ability to solve problems by adapting knowledge and experience.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.

  • Our Little Chute, WI, plant is home to about 95 employees. This facility is a top manufacturer of IQF sticks that are supplied to the appetizer industry. Next to the plant is our well-known Simon’s Specialty Cheese store, which has about 20 employees. Simon’s is a Wisconsin-themed store, with everything from meats and cheese to clothing and craft spirits.
