What's your day like?

As the LF Maintenance Supervisor on 2nd shift at Barrett Petfood, you'll report directly to the Maintenance Manager, playing a vital role in project planning and management at our Little Falls, MN plant. Your expertise in reading blueprints and understanding technical drawings will be instrumental in maintaining our production equipment through effective preventative maintenance and coordinated work orders. You'll prioritize and guide maintenance technicians on internal construction and maintenance projects aimed at improving our facilities. Diagnosing equipment issues and collaborating with production teams will be essential to minimize downtime while ensuring that all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements are met.

A solid understanding of basic electrical systems—such as single-phase, three-phase, and low voltage—is crucial, as you'll follow and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

A high school diploma is mandatory, with additional schooling preferred. Having a boiler license and forklift certification is advantageous, as is electrical knowledge. Your strong mechanical aptitude will enable you to tackle equipment challenges effectively. With 2-3 years of supervisory experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting, particularly food manufacturing, you'll bring valuable insights.

Welding experience is also a plus. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and proficiency with various computer programs, including work order systems and the Microsoft Office suite, such as Outlook and Teams. Strong and effective communication skills are essential to foster collaboration and guide your team in maintaining safety and efficiency throughout the plant.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • High School diploma required, additional schooling preferred.
  • Boiler license and Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain
  • Electrical Knowledge
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • 2-3 years supervisor experience required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing facility preferred, specifically in food manufacturing
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
  • Ability to work with various computer programs including work order system and Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook and Teams.
  • Strong and effective communication skills a must
