Responsibilities:
Job Summary: Under general supervision, a Medical Transcriptionist transcribes reports dictated by lab personnel including Pathologists.
Transcribes pathology dictation accurately and timely.
Prepares reports and slides for use during tumor conferences.
Prepares slides and blocks for submission to reference labs.
Initiates, composes, and types correspondence, memos, forms, procedures, reports as directed by Director, Supervisor or Pathologist.
Receives and initiates orders from ordering physicians.
Receives and screens telephone calls routing to correct area or providing needed information.
Other duties as assigned.
