Summary of Job Duties:

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock in Geology is seeking to hire an Extra Help Assistant. The Extra Help Assistant will work closely with the Rock Lab Manager to maintain the lab and assist students. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and or Experience:

  • Geology major or related field.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help undergraduates make thin sections in support of several courses and research projects;

  • Maintain rock cutting and polishing equipment;

  • Monitor rock lab supplies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have knowledge of rocks.

  • Must know how to cut, polish, and teach students how to use the equipment;

  • Must have experience maintaining rock lab supplies.
