Position Summary
The Assistant Controller is an entry-level professional position within the financial management team. This role assists the Controller in overseeing the state's accounting and financial reporting functions, providing support in various accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and preparing financial statements. The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations, data analysis, and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.
This position requires on-site employment with no remote or hybrid options available.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with federal grants to include Vocational Rehabilitation grants.
- 2 years of experience working in the AWARE case management system.
- Experience completing the SEFA and ACFR.
Job Responsibilities and Expected Results
Key Responsibilities
- Review budget and expenditures in AWARE and reconcile draws.
- Produce expenditure and draw reports and reconcile them to AASIS.
- Complete Federal reports and work with federal partners to resolve discrepancies.
- Verify accuracy of payment documents to comply with Federal and State audit requirements.
- Assist with the SEFA and ACFR.
- Supervise a small to medium group of finance staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
