Summary of Job Duties:

UA Little Rock is seeking to hire an Extra Help Assistant/Field and Lab Assistant in the School of Physical Sciences - Geology Program. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Some college and field experience.

Job Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Aid in the collection of samples, parameters, and notes in the field;

  • Drive to sampling locations;

  • Take stream discharge measurements;

  • Mail samples to appropriate labs;

  • Follow quality assurance and quality control procedures;

  • Analyze samples in a lab;

  • Prepare for sampling events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with hydrology/hydrogeology principles;

  • Dependable form of transportation;

  • Ability to work with water sampling equipment;

  • Ability to analyze samples in the lab;

  • Spreadsheet computing skills;

  • Preparation of reports;

  • Good time management skills.
