Responsibilities:

 

  • Support aircraft structural manufacturing and final assembly operations, including large assemblies, subassemblies, and critical installations.
  • Provide daily manufacturing engineering support to production lines to resolve technical issues, nonconformances, and workflow constraints.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring manufacturing issues affecting quality, cost, or delivery.
  • Develop, improve, and validate manufacturing processes, work instructions, routings, and sequences.
  • Analyze and interpret manufacturing and assembly drawings, 3D models, and process specifications to derive robust, technician‑level work instructions.
  • Create detailed industrialization packages and routings, including MBOMs, standard work, and time standards for shop‑floor execution.
  • Drive production efficiency improvements, including cycle time reduction, line balancing, and workload optimization.
  • Perform technical studies and conduct analysis of operations to identify bottlenecks and corrective actions.
  • Support tooling and jig/fixture development to improve ergonomics, repeatability, and installation time.
  • Support special manufacturing operations, including rework, major structural repairs, and critical fastener or assembly activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Design Engineering, Quality, and Stress for structural deviations and repairs.
  • Coordinate with internal customers and management to develop standards for design and production.
  • Participate in FAI / Pre‑FAI activities supporting aircraft certification and conformity.
  • Support new production line implementation, readiness reviews, and rate increases.
  • Participate in manufacturing transfers between sites (domestic and international), including process alignment, training, and hours planning.
  • Support the industrialization of new or modified processes to ensure repeatability and compliance.
  • Provide shop‑floor support, create rework instructions, manage engineering changes, and handle NCRs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, specifications, and corporate quality standards.
  • Participate in program and production status reviews, providing concise, data‑driven updates.
  • Support internal and external audits (process, quality, customer readiness).

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years of aerospace manufacturing engineering experience in aircraft structures or final assembly environments.
  • Strong hands‑on experience supporting production lines.
  • Proven experience with manufacturing methods, process development, and shop‑floor troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret 2D/3D engineering drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and routings to produce clear work instructions.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA V5 (preferred), Creo, or SolidWorks.
  • Experience with developing MBOMs, shop routings, and time‑study work packages.
  • Competence in trend and capacity analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • SAP management experience; familiarity with 3Dvia.
  • Comfortable working in high‑volume production environments.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with design, production, quality, and leadership teams.
  • Detail‑oriented, analytical mindset with a sense of ownership and urgency.

Preferred Experience:

 

  • Experience supporting business jet or large aircraft manufacturing programs.
  • Background in production ramp‑ups, new line launches, or manufacturing transfers.
  • Experience with structural assemblies, systems installations, and special processes.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar MES systems.
  • International manufacturing exposure or expatriate support assignments.
  • Experience supporting quality improvement plans, KPIs, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • VPM experience.
  • Experience with materials such as Divinycell, aluminum, steel, foam, Kydex, etc.
  • 3D modeling experience.
