Baldwin & Shell Construction Company is searching for an experienced Project Manager who will thrive on our Central Arkansas Team. The Central Arkansas Team at Baldwin & Shell handles general commercial construction, construction management, and design-build delivery projects of all sizes throughout Central Arkansas and beyond.


The Project Manager plays a key management role in the organization and implementation of the projects from start to finish. The Project Manager is responsible for all scheduling and cost control of the projects assigned. They are responsible for the preparation and execution of all contract documents with owners and vendors. In this position you may manage multiple projects. Depending on various considerations, including the complexity of scope and cost, an assisting Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager may be assigned to those projects. You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager or Division Vice President.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all resources and vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within the scope and budget.
  • Establish & maintain relationships with the project team, third parties, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Review daily job reports, manage change orders and RFI process, prepare and submit pay apps, etc.
  • Communicate regularly with owners, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Resolve issues and disputes in a timely and diplomatic manner.
  • Thoroughly read general conditions and contract with owner.
  • Prepare monthly schedule updates with input from Superintendent.
  • Monitor project cost.
    • Review weekly labor cost analysis.
    • Prepare monthly cost projections.
    • Ensure that all items of cost are posted to the correct code.
    • Resolve discrepancies between committed and actual costs.
    • Project costs through end of year.
    • Monitor monthly equipment charges to project in accordance with contract.
  • Review project cost, review subcontractor pay request and prepare monthly billings.
  • Review subcontracts/purchase orders for any revisions or amendments by the subcontractor/vendor.
  • Provide frequent updates to Senior Project Manager/Division Vice President
  • Provide support and coordination with the Project Superintendent.
  • Prepare project schedule with superintendent and key subcontractors.
  • Participate in interviews and presentations as required.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have at least three (5) years of Project Management experience in Commercial Construction projects ranging from $10M and higher.
  • Have at least five (5) years experience in commercial construction.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and have advanced knowledge of Project Management software.
  • Be able to read construction drawings & blueprints accurately.
  • Have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Have highly developed organizational and time management abilities.
  • Have strong financial skills to develop, track, and analyze project budgets.
  • Be willing to learn and expand your knowledge continuously.
  • Be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test.
  • Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Baldwin & Shell standards and processes.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Procore, Vista, Docuware, Bluebeam and Microsoft Project preferred but not required.
