Summary of Job Duties:
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking to fill the position of Professor of Early Childhood Education. This is a 9-month, benefits eligible position open at the Associate or Assistant Professor level. The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses in Education, supervise field experiences, and advise undergraduate students. Teaching can include face-to-face, hybrid, online, and weekend formats. This position includes scholarly research, professional service, and collaboration with local K-12 schools. To be considered at the Associate level, the applicant must have a teaching, research, and service record commensurate with tenure at the rank of Associate Professor. The successful candidate will participate in faculty governance in the School of Education, the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
Ph.D. or Ed.D in a field related to Early Childhood Education;
Teaching Experience in an Early Childhood Setting (PK-2nd grade).
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Expertise in Math and/or Science of Reading pedagogy;
Experience in college teaching and evidence of scholarship or scholarly potential;
Experience teaching in multiple modalities;
A record of professional service activities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned in face-to-face, online, and/or weekend formats;
Advise undergraduate students regarding their programs of study and degree progress;
Conduct scholarly and applied research;
Serve on committees as part of faculty governance at the school, college, and university levels;
Collaborate with local K-12 schools and community partners
Other duties as assigned by the Director

Knowledge of early childhood education as a field of teaching, research, and service;
Skills to teach collegiate coursework in our curriculum in various modalities
