The Nursing Excellence Manager manages the daily operations of the Nursing Excellence team, ensuring effective and efficient utilization of staff, supplies, and equipment. Works collaboratively with the other members of the team, internal and external partners and stakeholders to create a learning environment and education programs that meet individual, department, and organizational goals and facilitate the adult learning process. Promotes evidenced based practice and ongoing performance improvement. The Nursing Excellence Manager collaborates with the Nursing Excellence Director, and other members of the nursing leadership team.

Description

1.  Leads the achievement of hospital and departmental patient safety goals.

2.  Fosters effective communication, collaboration, and accountability between clinical staff, teams, and other departments.

3.  Hires, onboards, evaluates, trains and develops staff.

4.  Creates and role models high standards for education, quality, professionalism, and accountability.

5.  Manages department expenses and resource utilization to achieve budget and productivity goals.

6.  Completes ongoing monitoring, data collection, and audits to ensure compliance.

7.  Leads and participates in performance improvement initiatives proactively identifying issues of risk and safety.

8.  Utilizes organizational and nursing strategic plans and goals to determine priorities for education and development.

9.  Performs other duties as assigned.
