About the Role:

The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the daily operations of the manufacturing floor to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production output. This position is responsible for coordinating production activities, managing team performance, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The Production Supervisor will lead a team of production workers, providing guidance, training, and support to meet production goals and deadlines. They will also collaborate with other departments such as quality control, maintenance, and supply chain to optimize workflow and resolve any operational issues. Ultimately, the role ensures that production targets are met while maintaining a safe work environment and fostering continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with production management software and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related discipline.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Certification in safety management or production supervision (e.g., OSHA, APICS).
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet established schedules and quality standards.
  • Lead, train, and motivate production team members to achieve performance and safety objectives.
  • Monitor production processes and equipment to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and quality assurance teams to minimize downtime and maintain product standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports on performance metrics and operational issues.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain to ensure availability of materials.
