Job DetailsJob Location: Littleton, Ma Corporate Office - Littleton, MA 01460Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $145,000.00 - $160,000.00 SalaryPosition Summary: Lead the electrical development of systems supporting Mevion’s S250 proton therapy platform, where high-reliability engineering directly contributes to cancer-treatment delivery. You will own challenging high-voltage and power-electronics subsystems from architecture through verification, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring developing engineers.   Essential Functions: Leads the design and development of electrical subsystems including power electronics, control circuitry, and high-voltage systems. Performs circuit analysis, schematic design, and PCB layout review for complex electrical assemblies. Develops and executes electrical system test plans, failure analysis, and design verification protocols. Authors and maintains electrical design documentation including schematics, BOMs, and engineering change orders. Provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers on electrical design methodology and standards. Collaborates with mechanical, software, and physics engineering teams to ensure electrical subsystem integration. Troubleshoots and resolves electrical issues during manufacturing, commissioning, and field operation. Ensures electrical designs comply with applicable safety standards including IEC 60601 and relevant EMC requirements. Willingness and ability to travel (5-10%) domestically and internationally as business needs require. Required Education, Training, and Experience: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering required with 5+ years' experience, and hands-on product-development experience for a complex product. Expertise in either high-voltage power electronics, AC/DC power systems or precision analog design. Proven experience in performing all design and development stages including schematic capture, layout, design, verification and documentation. Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD) and circuit simulation software Self-sufficiency in planning and driving projects to conclusion, as well as meeting performance and cost objectives in a timely fashion with a high level of innovation, quality and efficiency. The ability to easily transition from one project to the next with little direct supervision.   Preferred/Transferable Backgrounds: Experience in the design and manufacture of Medical Capital Equipment systems or another regulated product development environment (aerospace, defense) EC 60601, EMC, medical-device, aerospace, defense, industrial equipment, or other regulated-product experience. RF experience. Demonstrated ability to leverage modern AI tools in innovative ways to improve engineering effectiveness, solve technical challenges, or create business value Physical and Environmental Considerations: Regular standing and walking in lab or engineering areas. Typical office environment.  Frequent use of hands to handle tools, instruments, and small parts. Occasional lifting or moving of equipment and materials up to 35 lbs (16 kg). Occasional bending, stooping, or reaching to access work surfaces and equipment. Combination of office and lab/engineering environments. Work around equipment, tools, and test setups with moderate noise. Use of appropriate PPE (e.g., safety glasses, lab coats, gloves) as required by task and safety procedures.
