The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.Blue Origin is seeking an experiencedāÆEmbedded Software DeveloperāÆto join ourāÆCOMSEC teamāÆwithin theāÆCore Systems and ComponentsāÆgroup. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing andĀ maintainingĀ embedded software solutions for secure communications systems. You will work in close collaboration withāÆElectrical Circuit and FPGA DesignersāÆto deliver robust, high-performance software forĀ cutting-edgeĀ aerospace applications.Ā

ResponsibilitiesĀ
Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for COMSEC systemsĀ
Collaborate closely with Electrical Circuit and FPGA Designers to ensure seamless hardware/software integrationĀ
Drive work across all phases of the software development lifecycle ā from requirements and architecture through implementation, code review, verification, and deploymentĀ
Develop low-level drivers and firmware for embedded hardware platformsĀ
Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and verification activitiesĀ
Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, and documentationĀ
Develop and execute software verification and validation plans, including unit, integration, and automated regression testsĀ
Implement andĀ maintainĀ secure communications and cryptographic capabilities in compliance with applicable standardsĀ
Design and integrate device authentication mechanisms and identity management solutions into embedded platformsĀ
Support the development and implementation of Zero Trust security principles within embedded system architecturesĀ
Ensure software development adheres to applicable standards and security requirementsĀ

QualificationsĀ
Required:Ā
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fieldĀ
8+ years of experience in embedded software developmentĀ
ProficiencyĀ ināÆC/C++āÆfor embedded systemsĀ
Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS)Ā
Strong understanding of hardware/software interfaces, includingāÆSPI, I2C, UART, PCIe, and similar protocolsĀ
Experience working with FPGA interfaces and register-level hardware integrationĀ
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggersĀ
Understanding ofāÆZero Trust Architecture (ZTA)āÆprinciples as defined byāÆNIST SP 800-207āÆand theāÆDoD Zero Trust Reference ArchitectureĀ
Experience developing and deployingāÆSecure BootāÆand measured boot processes to ensure platform integrityĀ

Base Pay Range for:
CO applicants is $181,626.00 - $254,275.35Other site ranges may differ
