Underground Transmission Line Inspector / Observer


Location: Downtown Denver, CO (Field-Based)

At EDM International, we don’t just build infrastructure — we connect communities. We’re seeking a driven and detail-oriented Underground Transmission Line Inspector/Observer to ensure the highest quality and safety standards in the construction of major underground utility projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day field construction for underground transmission line projects.
  • Conduct inspections to verify all work meets drawings, specifications, and project standards.
  • Create accurate, detailed daily inspection reports.
  • Collaborate closely with contractors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Observe and document field tests, such as concrete and soil testing.
  • Maintain contract documents, permits, and updated “as-built” drawings.
  • Participate in construction meetings and coordinate with local officials, right-of-way agents, and permitting authorities.
  • Uphold and promote a safety-first culture, taking corrective action when needed.


What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in transmission, distribution, or substation line work.
  • Prior underground utility construction and inspection experience — especially in urban settings — preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction principles, specifications, and OSHA regulations (especially trenching/shoring).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, ArcGIS, or Field Maps a plus.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.


Work Environment

  • Field-based work across both urban and remote project sites.
  • Requires walking up to three miles per day, climbing, bending, and working in varied weather.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and safely operate a vehicle for field inspections.
