Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Medical Assistant, you will ensure smooth daily operations for your patients and the medical team. You can expect to support multiple patients daily, depending on physician availability. This position is represented by the SEIU-UHW.Every day you will proactively prepare patient charts, assist with patients exams or procedure and relay physician instructions, administer physician-directed medication and perform accurate vital sign measurements, manage medical records (charts and EMR), communicate patient concerns to providers, and collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for medication authorizations and refills.. To be successful in this role, you must have an enthusiasm to help others and the ability to work efficiently and provide empathy for our patients.
- Consistently demonstrates customer service expectations as outlined in the Dignity Health Medical Foundation audit tools.
- Consistently demonstrates competence as outlined in the applicable Dignity Health Medical Foundation audit tools and job
- Accurately documents, calculates, and safely administers all medications after obtaining a physician's written order.
- When issues arise they are taken care of on the spot ASAP.
- Adheres to time and attendance policies and procedures.
- Meets all OSHA standards.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate General Studies or GED General Studies
- Satisfactory completion of a formal Medical Assistant program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions or military training that is equivalent to an accredited Medical Assistant program (determination by Dignity Health Medical Foundation H.R. department in conjunction with the State Division of Allied Health Professions.)Have and maintain an MA Certificate through an accredited a school
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hireÂ
Preferred
- Six (6) month's experience in an outpatient setting as a Medical Assistant
