About the Role

We are looking for a Safety‑Conscious Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the parts room, support our technician team, and ensure our maintenance operations run smoothly. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and plays a key part in scheduling, parts inventory, vendor communication, and maintaining an efficient, organized shop environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Assign and schedule work for shop personnel.

  • Test vehicles to troubleshoot and verify repairs.

  • Champion and enforce our corporate safety program

  • Oversee all daily parts‑room operations, ensuring proper stocking, organization, and cleanliness.

  • Source, order, and track parts requested by technicians and generated through requisitions.

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for daily service and repair needs.

  • Perform routine spot checks and conduct the annual full‑stock inventory.

  • Pick up and deliver parts to and from vendors as needed.

  • Partner with technicians to identify correct parts and repair kits for equipment.

  • Communicate with vendors to expedite high‑priority parts, resolve backorders, coordinate returns, and process warranty claims.

  • Keep management and office staff updated on lead times, backorders, and ETAs for essential parts.

  • Maintain and update credentials for all online parts/repair platforms.

  • Purchase and manage software licenses for diagnostic tools and computers.

  • Order shop tools and coordinate repairs or calibration as needed.

  • Support overall shop cleanliness and organization, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

What You Bring

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems
    Working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency with computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for vendor and team coordination.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced maintenance environment.

  • Experience working in a warehouse, parts room, or repair shop setting.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to maintain compliance standards.

  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn, grow, and support the team

Requirements

  • 3+ years maintenance experience in truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Waste industry experience desired.

  • Supervise Shop personnel during swing shift.

  • Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulic and electrical systems.
