Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

Payroll Administrator I 
 
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Payroll Administrator I supports the accurate and timely administration of the Company’s payroll processes by maintaining payroll data, reviewing payroll transactions for accuracy and completeness, supporting compliance with applicable wage and tax requirements, and responding to employee payroll inquiries. This position works collaboratively with Human Resources, Accounting, Benefits, and management to maintain accurate payroll records, resolve payroll-related issues, and support the integrity and confidentiality of payroll operations. 
 
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY  
 
1. Payroll Administration
  • Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Enter and maintain payroll data, including new hires, salary changes, promotions, transfers, terminations, earnings adjustments, direct deposit, tax withholding elections, and payroll deductions.
  • Review payroll transactions for completeness and accuracy before payroll processing.
2. Payroll Records & Compliance
  • Maintain employee payroll records within the HRIS system.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations.
  • Maintain payroll documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee payroll information.
3. Payroll Reporting
  • Prepare payroll reports for Human Resources, management, or/and USDOL.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and payroll event.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and payroll record maintenance.
4. Employee Service
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, taxes, direct deposit, payroll deductions, PTO balances, and payroll policies.
  • Work collaboratively with HR, Accounting, Benefits, and department managers to resolve payroll-related issues.
5. Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and data accuracy.
  • Participate in payroll system testing and implementation of new payroll procedures if needed.

 

EDUCATION  
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Willingness to pursue payroll-related training or certification (FPC preferred). 
 
QUALIFICATIONS 
 
Previous Experience Required -
  • 1–3 years of payroll, accounting, finance, HR, or administrative experience preferred.
  • Payroll internship or payroll support experience is acceptable. 
 
Technical Skills Required - 
  • Basic knowledge of payroll principles and wage and hour regulations. 
  • Experience with HRIS or payroll systems (Dayforce preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong data entry, mathematical, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
