SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR I 

 

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Support and maintain hybrid IT infrastructure, including on-premises servers and Azure cloud environments and SQL database maintenance.

Assist in system operations, troubleshooting, and automation tasks to ensure stable, secure, and efficient IT services.

Participate in IT projects and gradually develop advanced technical and administrative capabilities.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  1. System and Cloud Operations: Perform daily system and cloud environment monitoring, patching, and maintenance.
  2. Azure Administration: Support Azure resource management including VMs, storage, and networking.
  3. SQL Database Administration: Support SQL Server operation, perform backups, user management, and assist with performance tuning.
  4. Backup and Recovery: Perform regular system backups and test recovery procedures.
  5. Automation Support: Write and maintain basic PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks.
  6. System Security: Apply updates, antivirus policies, and security controls under guidance.
  7. Documentation: Maintain system logs, configuration records, and operational documentation.
  8. User Support: Provide tier-1 and tier-2 technical support for system and application issues.
  9. Off-hours Duty: Participate in scheduled on-call rotation.
  10. Project Assistance: Support IT infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and testing activities.
  11. Other Duties: Perform tasks assigned by management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. 1–3 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or related areas is a plus
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure, SQL Server administration (backup, restore, and security management), and Windows Server administration.
    • Familiar with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
    • Basic PowerShell scripting or automation knowledge.
    • Understanding of system backup and recovery processes.
    • General networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VPN).
    • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  3. Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or equivalent preferred.

    Microsoft SQL Server certification (e.g., DP-300 or MCSA: SQL Server) is a plus.
