The Parents as Teachers Home Visitor builds meaningful relationships with families and walks alongside parents during their child’s most important early years. Through home visits, parenting groups, and community connections, you will support families as they discover their strengths, grow their confidence, and create strong foundations for their children.


This role provides strength-based, trauma-informed support and education focused on child development, family well-being, and helping every child reach their full potential.



COMPENSATION: $22.54 - $22.80/hr DOE

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time or Part-Time 

HOURS: Monday-Friday

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Education/Certificates/Licenses: 

Required:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Child Development, or related field

 

Experience:

Required

  • Two (2) years' experience with maternal/child health, child development, and/or public health
  • Experience working with families with young children
  • Experience using parenting skills curricula
  • Experience working with families with limited resources and/or special needs
  • Experience leading and/or working in small groups
  • Experience teaching or presenting to individuals and groups
  • Experience with computers (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Use the Parents As Teachers curriculum (training provided) to work directly with parents and young children every day.
  2. Provide information on child development and effective parenting techniques.
  3. Screen and/or assess children for physical, cognitive and social-emotional development.
  4. Accurately record and maintain family visit records in a timely manner using an online database.
  5. Connect and refer families to community resources.
  6. Plan and run group events for families.
  7. Market the program and recruit families.
  8. Travel and/or participate in required local, regional and virtual meetings for training and collaboration.
  9. Report to work as scheduled and work a flexible schedule when needed. This will include infrequent evening and weekend work.
  10. Use personal vehicle to travel to home visits.
  11. Adheres to all One Health Policies and Procedures.
  12. Participates in performance optimization and risk management activities as required.
  13. Cooperates and abides by all elements of One Health’s Compliance Program.
  14. Provides exceptional customer service and models the mission of One Health when interacting with all clients, co-workers, and others, promoting a positive image for One Health.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned or required with or without prior notification.
