Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • System expert for Powdered Metal Pressing and Sizing Operations.
    • Deep understanding of each press’ setup, operation, and maintenance.
    • Monitor operational condition of all presses.
    • Assist in troubleshooting press operation and repairs.
    • Analyze performance data and develop process improvements.
    • Provide input on press operation for work instructions and process documentation.
    • Maintain library of Setup Masters for all presses.
    • Take the lead in set-up, testing, validation, and operation of new equipment.
    • Lead problem-solving teams when operational or customer concerns arise.
  • Provide advice for new product feasibility and tool design.
  • Lead development of press programs for new part launch & product development.
  • Lead capital projects for press acquisition or disposal.
  • Provide input for plant floor equipment layout.
  • Support all shifts for manufacturing during the week, and weekends if necessary.

Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred.
  • 3 years of experience with mechanical or hydraulic presses or relevant experience is required.
  • Experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and operation of industrial equipment is required.
  • 5+ years’ related work experience in Powdered Metal manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience in the automotive industry or in a global manufacturing company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a high energy level.
