We have the ability to ship our custom products throughout the United States. We also erect our products on job sites throughout the Southeastern US.

Job Description

Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery, equipment, and facilities within a steel fabrication environment. This role ensures production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on fabrication equipment including CNC machines, presses, shears, brakes, saws, and material handling systems

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues

• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions

• Assist with installation, setup, and relocation of machinery and equipment

• Maintain welding machines, forklifts, cranes, and overhead hoists

• Perform basic fabrication and welding repairs as needed

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documents

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service logs

 

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade school preferred
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting skills (motors, sensors, controls)
  • Welding and metal fabrication skills strongly preferred
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with MS Office programs

 

Preferred Skills/Certifications (Not Required)

  • Welding certification
  • Forklift or crane certification
  • Industrial maintenance certification
  • Experience with COAST maintenance software

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, heat, and industrial environments
