We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Grinder Operator to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC equipment, performing grinding operations, fabricating and refurbishing blades, and supporting production across multiple machines. Candidates with CNC programming or coding experience are highly preferred.
This position offers a consistent 40-hour work week, with occasional Saturday overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machining equipment.
- Operate additional equipment, including Blanchard grinders, plasma cutting equipment, and other shop machinery as production needs require.
- Perform grinding operations and daily blade sharpening.
- Fabricate and refurbish industrial blades.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
- Inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve machining processes.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications
Required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Must provide own basic hand tools.
Preferred
- Experience operating Blanchard grinders or similar grinding equipment.
- CNC programming/coding experience.
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
- Forklift and/or crane operation certification.
Schedule
- Full-time
- 40 hours per week
- Saturday overtime as needed
Tools & Equipment
- Employees are required to provide their own basic hand tools.
- Specialized tools are provided by the company.
- Annual tool reimbursement of $500.
- PPE provided
- Steel Toe/ Composite Toe required $95.00 annual boot allowance
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to:
- Loud noise levels
- Dust and airborne particles
- Temperature fluctuations and extreme heat
- High-pressure air, steam, or gas systems
- Moving mechanical equipment and machinery
Required PPE includes:
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toe or composite-toe work boots
- Hearing protection
- Additional PPE as required
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, reach, stoop, climb, push, and pull.
- Lift, move, and handle materials and equipment throughout the shift.
- Exert up to 130 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds continuously.
- Demonstrate strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Effectively communicate with supervisors and team members regarding production and safety matters.
