Felician University, the Franciscan University of New Jersey, seeks a student-centric, detail-oriented experienced accessibility professional to serve as the Coordinator of Student Accessibility Services. The Coordinator provides leadership and direct support to ensure equitable access to the instructional and learning environment for students with documented disabilities. S/he manages an assigned caseload of students receiving approved academic accommodations and is responsible for evaluating and facilitating reasonable accommodations through an interactive process. This position oversees academic and instructional accommodations and serves as the centralized point for the receipt and review of disability documentation submitted in support of both academic and housing accommodation requests. S/he advises students regarding disability accommodations, develops accommodation strategy, and directs faculty and staff regarding accommodations required to ensure compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act 1990, as amended, regarding non-discrimination against persons with disabilities. The Coordinator serves as the resident expert for the University as regarding policies and services for students with disabilities.Â

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Psychology, Counseling, Education, Law or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred
Qualifications:
- Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in ADA/ Section 504 coordination, compliance, or investigations; familiarity with – and sensitivity to – working with individuals with disabilities; experience with – and knowledge of – educational and medical documentation / criteria utilized in disability assessment and compliance scenarios in higher education' computer and technology literacy, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications, Internet, and assistive technology platforms; willingness and ability to learn new skills, such as working with new technologies and attending conferences and webinars related to disability services; experience responding to or supporting reviews, complaints, or investigations from the Office of Civil rights or similar regulatory body; ability and willingness to support and promote the Felician Franciscan core values and mission of the University.
