Basic Job Functions:

The Mobile Equipment Mechanic will work closely with the production teams and other members of the Maintenance Team to make improvements in SAFETY, quality, cost, reliability, and productivity to maintain world class operational capability. Safety is an important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures and housekeeping standards to always make safety a priority. The Mobile Equipment Mechanic is expected to demonstrate leadership through the Maintenance Strategy:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to work nights & weekends, holidays, scheduled and unscheduled overtime
  • Associate degree in diesel or automotive technology or minimum 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to include malfunctions and failures of machine hydraulics, electrical, powertrain, engines, and tier 4 emissions systems
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Mobile equipment and overhead crane experience
  • HVAC EPA 609 Certification
  • Machinery Installation/Machinery alignment experience
