Inventories, restocks, and keeps dining room operation running smoothly and will assist in all jobs and scheduling.  Oversees the operation, ensuring the utmost in efficiency and service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, Supervises service employees. Handles customer complaints. Trains new employees and supervises ongoing training. Makes sure food products are up to standards and served on time. Communicates with the Restaurant and Kitchen Manager regarding all issues and observations. Communicates with the Bar manager about all bar issues. Promotes positive public relations. Ensures proper staffing and scheduling.         Ensures dining room is kept professional, neat, and clean. Informs staff of daily specials and special events, programs, or new policies. Fills in for all other positions if necessary. Insures all policy and procedures are enforced at all times. Communicates when policies are not working. Other duties may be assigned. AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversees Restaurant personnel, in the areas of food and beverage service. Performs all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with BRCR policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, directing the work of employees and rewarding and disciplining employees. Directing the work of all personnel who report to this position. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Two (2) years of serving experience At least one (1) year managerial or supervisory experience. Must be 21 years of age. Knowledge of restaurant procedures and presentation of wines and liquors.  Some computer and POS or register knowledge.  Demonstrated etiquette in table setting and service.  Capable of training new employees in all staff positions.  Able to handle sums of money accurately.  Able to work well with subordinates and management. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance. Must provide or obtain a Food Handlers certification upon hire and maintain during employment.  Must complete Serve Safe Management Course and certification within 30 days of employment. Must provide or obtain the Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification and maintain during employment. COMPUTER OPERATIONS Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.   MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.). Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources. Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort. Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Being able to multitask, concentrate and communicate in this environment is a must. This is not a smoke free workplace. Although we employ state of the art filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment. Employee smoking is only permitted in designated employee areas during working hours.
