Job Summary: The Assistant Professor-PA assists with organizing and structuring the academic program in accordance with established educational standards and practices. Coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the professional Physician Assistant course. Provides lectures and supervises and instructs students in clinical settings, and performs administrative duties. The Loma Linda University Physician Assistant Program is committed to educating compassionate, evidence-based, and community-focused PAs. Our curriculum emphasizes clinical excellence, interprofessional practice, service, and lifelong learning. We are seeking a Clinical Faculty member who is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and advancing PA education. The Clinical Faculty member will play a key role in delivering didactic and clinical education, mentoring students, and supporting the PA Program’s mission. This position includes teaching, advising, clinical skills instruction, and participation in program development and accreditation-related activities. The faculty member will teach and coordinate courses within the PA curriculum, facilitate clinical skills labs and case-based instruction, and mentor students in academics and professionalism. Responsibilities include student assessment, recruitment and maintenance of clinical rotation sites, conducting site visits, and coordinating placements to ensure compliance with ARC-PA standards. The role also involves collaborating on curriculum development, program evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives, while maintaining clinical practice as appropriate. Additional duties include serving as a liaison with preceptors, participating in admissions and community engagement, and contributing to service within the program and profession. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Physician Assistant Master's Degree required.   Minimum of two years of work and/or teaching experience in the area of specialization or an appropriate Doctoral Degree required.  The rank of Assistant Professor will be determined by the School of Allied Health Profession's Rank and Promotion Committee through evaluation of the Curriculum Vitae.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of current technology and educational media used in teaching and presentations. Able to effectively communicate changes and instructions in a professional, effective and positive manner Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Able to communicate effectively on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications: License or certification applicable to area of teaching as a Physician Assistant required. Current certification through the NCCPA and license to practice as a Physician Assistant required. Required to maintain clinical practice.
