Job Summary: The Associate Dean-Residence Life directs and coordinates the student's resident hall life of Loma Linda University by providing leadership to staff and students alike. Â Creates a comfortable, supportive, spiritual environment for the student female resident that is conducive to learning and personal growth. Â Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred. Â Minimum three years of experience managing residential life required.
Knowledge and Skills: Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access); operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Candidates must demonstrate strong listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills. Â Must also possess the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative supervisory and colleague working relationships. Â Must demonstrate strong knowledge of student development theory, principles, and practices. Â Must demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills. Â Must possess strong problem solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve conflict and manage crisis. Â Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
