Job Summary: The Associate Dean-Residence Life directs and coordinates the student's resident hall life of Loma Linda University by providing leadership to staff and students alike.  Creates a comfortable, supportive, spiritual environment for the student female resident that is conducive to learning and personal growth.  Performs other duties as needed.



Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.  Minimum three years of experience managing residential life required.

Knowledge and Skills: Able to read; write and speak with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access); operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Candidates must demonstrate strong listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills.  Must also possess the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative supervisory and colleague working relationships.  Must demonstrate strong knowledge of student development theory, principles, and practices.  Must demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills.  Must possess strong problem solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve conflict and manage crisis.  Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
