About the RoleHillcrest Property Management is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Junior Portfolio Property Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their property management career to develop their skills under the guidance of senior managers while providing quality service to boards and owners. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, communicates well, and enjoys working collaboratively with property assistants and bookkeepers in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of properties within an assigned portfolio, under the guidance of a senior Property Manager.
- Support association boards and respond to routine inquiries from unit owners and board members.
- Work closely with property assistants, bookkeepers, and vendors to help ensure smooth, orderly service delivery.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to help address after-hours emergencies, with escalation support from senior team members.
- Assist in monitoring property budgets and help track alignment with the board's financial goals.
- Help collect and organize vendor bids, and communicate updates to the board as directed.
- Help prepare board packets and related materials in a timely manner.
- Attend board meetings and special meetings alongside a senior manager as needed.
Qualifications:
- Illinois Community Association Manager License preferred, or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe.
- 1-2 years of industry-related experience; internships or related coursework a plus.
- Willingness to learn vendor negotiation and contract basics.
- Basic understanding of budgets and financial statements, or eagerness to develop this skill.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Physical ability to inspect common areas of properties, both indoors and outdoors.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to build professional relationships with clients, including board members, homeowners, and vendors.
