Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM with a night shift premium
Training: Approximately 2 months on day shift before transitioning to the night shift.
bioMérieux is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support manufacturing operations by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems. This position plays a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and ensuring manufacturing operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance team members and manufacturing personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues, complete maintenance activities, and contribute to operational excellence in a regulated manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process-related equipment issues.
- Execute repairs in accordance with safety, quality, and maintenance procedures.
- Document maintenance activities accurately within required systems and records.
- Perform inventory checks and assist with spare parts management.
- Collaborate with maintenance team members and manufacturing personnel to resolve technical issues.
- Escalate complex equipment problems to senior technicians or leadership when necessary.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Complete required training and maintain proficiency in maintenance procedures and systems.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with bioMérieux quality standards, GMP requirements, and safety policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum two (2) years of maintenance, manufacturing, industrial, facilities, or related experience.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing or industrial equipment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (FDA, GMP, ISO, or similar).
- Technical training, vocational certification, apprenticeship, or related maintenance education.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and reliability practices.

The estimated wage range for this role based in Illinois is between $25.90 – 37.50. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
