We are hiring a Welding Technician to join a highly specialized manufacturing environment supporting industries such as aerospace, defense, automotive, and energy.

This role is ideal for someone with hands-on welding experience who wants to build technical skills, work closely with machines, and gain exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies.

About the Company

Our client, pro-beam USA Inc., is the North American subsidiary of a global German technology leader in electron beam (EB) welding, drilling, and additive manufacturing systems.

From its facility in Lombard, IL, the team works on highly customized, precision-driven solutions used in some of the most demanding applications.

As part of an international organization headquartered in Germany, you will have exposure to global engineering teams and advanced manufacturing technologies.

What You’ll Do

This is a hands-on, shop floor role focused on operating and supporting advanced welding equipment.

Machine Operation & Production

  • Set up, operate, and monitor welding equipment and automated systems
  • Follow weld procedures and work instructions
  • Perform basic inspections (visual and dimensional checks)
  • Support routine maintenance and equipment readiness

Process Support & Troubleshooting

  • Assist with adjusting welding parameters and setups
  • Identify and report equipment or process issues
  • Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts
  • Participate in trials and sample production

Technical Exposure

  • Support customer demonstrations and testing
  • Gain exposure to equipment commissioning and technical processes

Documentation & Quality

  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Support compliance with industry standards (including aerospace-related requirements)

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of hands-on welding experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with TIG, MIG, or similar welding processes
  • Comfortable working with machines, tools, and technical equipment
  • Ability to read basic drawings or work instructions
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
  • Work authorization in the U.S. (required)

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Experience with automated or CNC-controlled equipment
  • Exposure to advanced or specialized welding systems
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Basic CNC or machine programming knowledge
  • Welding certifications

Training & Development

Candidates should already have a foundation in welding. Training is provided specifically on electron beam technology and the company’s specialized equipment — not basic welding skills.
