About the position: As a Physical Therapist at Madison Health, you will be responsible for evaluation, treatment planning, treatment and discharge planning of patients to enhance strength, flexibility, range of motion, motor control, and reduce any pain, discomfort and swelling the patient is experiencing.  Supervises patient treatments by Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and students.  Applicant should be experienced with orthopedics, neuro, and outpatient therapies.   This is a full - time position.  No weekends or holidays required. This position will be responsible for both inpatient and outpatient appointments.    
 
 Key job qualities/duties:

  • Evaluates the patient’s condition upon referral.  Integrates data from a variety of assessment techniques to create a customized treatment plan including short term and long term goals. 
  • Provides safe and effective physical therapy treatment incorporating physical, mental, social and emotional components to achieve improved quality of life and a sense of independence.  Demonstrates the ability to apply accurate therapeutic principles and practices. Uses appropriate technical knowledge and clinical judgment in observing patient’s reactions to treatments.
  • Completes documentation timely to maximize compensation of physical therapy treatment.
  • Demonstrates open and effective communication with other health care providers, patients and families.  Treats patients and families with dignity and respect.  Ensures confidentiality of patient records.  Interacts professionally with patients and families and provides explanations and verbal reassurance as necessary.
  •  Maintains and operates equipment to ensure that it is functioning safely and correctly.  Follows department procedures for sterilizing equipment.  Manages the facilities, materials, equipment and time necessary to the delivery of services.
  • Exhibits knowledge of and complies with state, federal and American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) regulations as they pertain to this position and department. Performs physical therapy treatment abiding to the laws, rules, and code of ethics as established by the APTA.
  • Participates in activities that promote hospital operations and departmental growth.  Engages in continuing education and professional growth activities related to Physical Therapy.

What qualifications are we looking for?

  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Ohio.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of employment required.
