JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE:Optical/ Mechanical Assembler

Reports to:Supervisor / Manager

Job Summary

  • Assemble electronics according to product specifications.
  • Soldering under Maglite shielded cables
  • Fine pitch capabilities or experience with wires to host
  • Follows Visual Aids to put together Mechanical and Electronic products.
  • Using hand and power tools and other assembly equipment.
  • Utilize quality practices and procedures to assure that the assemblies are accurately and effectively manufactured.
  • Maintains a clean, neat and orderly area.
  • Responsible for the quality and accuracy of own work.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

  • Experience with soldering equipment and wires to host
  • Experience with clean room environment
  • Excellent knowledge of IPC-610 workmanship requirements.
  • Understanding of ESD Protocols
  • Absolute attention to detail
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Ability to adapt to various tasks in a fast paced environment
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma and or GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Working knowledge of IPC
  • Experience with optics preferred (i.e. assemblies that include lenses, etc)
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
