Assistant Executive Director – The Reserve
Position Summary
The Assistant Executive Director (AED) is an operational leader responsible for translating the Executive Director’s vision into disciplined daily execution across all aspects of the community.
This role ensures the community operates seamlessly, with consistency, accountability, and a high-touch resident experience aligned with The Reserve standards. The AED plays a critical role in supporting both operational performance and financial outcomes, while reinforcing a culture of excellence.
The AED is both an operator and a developer of talent, serving as a force multiplier for the ED while building the next generation of leadership within the community.
Core Responsibilities
Execution & Consistency
- Drive disciplined daily execution across all departments, ensuring alignment with operational priorities and community goals
- Monitor day-to-day performance across departments, identifying gaps in execution, service, or presentation and addressing them proactively
- Ensure operational standards are consistently met while maintaining a seamless, “invisible” experience for residents
- Partner with department leaders to ensure strong follow-through on key initiatives, service expectations, and operational routines
- Step in to support or lead departments as needed to maintain continuity and performance
Financial & Business Performance Support
- Partner with the Executive Director to support budget execution, expense management, and financial performance across the community
- Work with department leaders to ensure alignment with labor targets, staffing plans, and expense controls
- Monitor key operational drivers that impact financial performance (occupancy readiness, staffing levels, service delivery efficiency and resident retention)
- Support leaders in understanding and managing their departmental budgets, reinforcing accountability and ownership
- Assist in identifying cost efficiencies while maintaining Reserve-level experience standards
- Contribute to variance discussions and action planning to address performance gaps

Leadership & Team Development
- Coach and develop department leaders to operate at a high-performance, hospitality-driven level
- Provide clear, direct, and actionable feedback to strengthen leadership capability and accountability
- Reinforce expectations around execution, professionalism, and service standards
- Address performance issues promptly and consistently, ensuring alignment with community expectations
- Support hiring, onboarding, and development of talent aligned with Reserve standards
- Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, and collaboration across the leadership team

Luxury Experience & Community Presence
- Maintain a strong, visible presence throughout the community, engaging regularly with residents, families, and team members
- Reinforce a white-glove, anticipatory service culture across all departments
- Observe and coach team members in real-time to elevate service delivery and resident interactions
- Ensure the physical environment (cleanliness, ambiance, attention to detail) consistently reflects a luxury standard
- Support and lead elevated service recovery efforts, ensuring concerns are addressed quickly, personally, and thoughtfully

Sales Support & Experience Alignment
- Actively support the sales process by participating in tours, first impressions, and prospect interactions
- Ensure the community is consistently tour-ready and reflective of Reserve brand standards
- Partner with Sales and Operations to ensure a seamless transition from prospect to resident experience
- Reinforce alignment between the experience promised during the sales process and daily execution
- Support urgency and accountability around occupancy goals through operational readiness

Operational Discipline & Standards
- Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and service standards across all departments
- Reinforce strong organizational discipline, including scheduling, staffing, and daily routines
- Identify operational inefficiencies and partner with leaders to implement improvements
- Support regulatory compliance and readiness while maintaining a high-end resident experience
- Step in as acting leader when needed, ensuring continuity, confidence, and stability

Executive Director Partnership
- Serve as a trusted operational partner to the ED, ensuring alignment between strategy and execution
- Translate the ED’s vision into clear priorities and daily actions across the community
- Step into leadership responsibility in the ED’s absence with confidence and consistency
- Provide real-time insight into operational challenges, team dynamics, and opportunities

- 3–5+ years of leadership experience in senior living, hospitality, healthcare, or similar service-driven environment
- Experience supporting or leading multi-department operations with a focus on execution and consistency
- Demonstrated ability to hold teams accountable and navigate performance conversations effectively
- Strong understanding of resident/customer experience and service expectations in a high-touch environment
- Exposure to or participation in the sales process, including tours or prospect engagement
- Ability to operate with discipline, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
- Professional presence with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; state licensure (or ability to obtain) as applicable

Compensation: $100,000 - $110,000 annual salary
